This is Me!! Mrs. Rebecca Watson
Hello Everyone! Welcome to Mrs. Watson's SDC Class. I am so happy to start another school year with my Special Students. I am starting my 25th year of teaching this year. Wow what a ride. I started teaching in 1991, after acquiring my Multiple Subject Credential and Special Education certificate at California State University, Sacramento. By 1992 I had also received my Masters in Special Education. I started teaching here in WUSD in a program similar to the one I have now but was located at the old Bryte Elementary School site. In the last two decades I have moved freely around the District and have taught at the old Evergreen site, Alyce Norman and gently have landed here at Riverbank 4 years ago. As many of you know my class is an SDC , or Special Day Class established for students with Moderate to Severe Disabilities.
My students challenge me daily. They teach me new things about myself everyday. They are truly a joy to spend my days with. Being able to watch them learn and see their growth over the years that I have them, is why I teach.
This year is going to be Fabulous!
Family collaboration and contact is an essential part of our program and the success of our students. Please feel free to contact me at Riverbank or by e-mail at rwatson@wusd,k12,ka,us.
