School Uniforms
Student Uniform Policy
Students in all Washington Unified K-8 schools are required to wear a school uniform. This consists of navy blue or khaki pants, slacks, athletic pants, leggings or blue jeans, skirts, shorts, jumpers, etc. with a white or navy blue collared shirt or blouse. Riverbank school t-shirts or sweatshirts may also be worn.
Uniform Standards
- Tops: solid white or navy blue with collar, no logos or writing except unobstructive stitched polo shirt logos; official school logo shirts
- Dresses, jumpers, skirts, skirts, and scooters: solid khaki or navy (appropriate length)
- Pants and shorts: solid khaki or navy (NO jeans, skinny jeans, or leggings) Navy Athletic pants/shorts may be worn.
- Leggings must be worn with either shorts, skirts, or dresses on top of them. They may not be worn by themselves.
Dress Code
Keeping your child focused on their studies in a safe learning environment is important to us! School board policy 5132 describes dress code expectations for all students to support us in this effort, even for students with a uniform waiver on file. Tennis shoes and clothing suitable for PE are strongly recommended. Any student who is dressed inappropriately will be given uniform clothing to wear.
The following clothing is NOT allowed:

Flip-flops, bedroom slippers, or backless shoes/sandals and open-toed shoes

Crude, vulgar, profane or sexually suggestive clothing, jewelry, or personal items (including sagging pants)

See-through or fish-net fabrics, halter tops, off-the-shoulder or low cut tops, bare midriffs

Shorts/skirts shorter that mid-thigh, shoulder straps less than 1 inch wide

Blanket (students need to wear jackets or sweatshirts)
