Principal's Message

Dear Riverbank Community,

My time here at Riverbank is coming to a close, but it has been the best eight years of my career.  Although we have experienced tragedies and sadness, the wonderful memories I have of my time here will nourish me for the rest of my life.  I will remember every staff member who has worked tirelessly for your children.  I will remember all the students who dunked me in the dunk tank.  I will remember dancing with teachers at Beach Day.  I will remember the student who left Riverbank, was valedictorian at River City and is now studying on a full scholarship at Harvard.  I will remember the students from Riverbank who were some of the first to join the Culinary Academy.  I will fondly remember eighth grade promotion ceremonies and the swim parties at River City.  I will also remember proudly watching students that I have known receive their high school diplomas at River City High School and Yolo Education Center, excited by the possibilities that await them.

If you have been in my office you know that I collect quotes.  I would like to share one of my favorite quotes, by an unknown author, with students and families of the Riverbank community.  “Excellence can be attained if… you care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible.”

With caring and respect I wish you the best,

Mike Woodcock
