Riverbank's Four Anti-Bullying Rules

  1. We will not bully others.
  2. We will try to help students who are bullied.
  3. We will try to include students who are left out.
  4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.

Combating Bullying at Riverbank

What is Bullying?

  • It is a specific type of aggression
  • Can be verbal, physical, or psychological
  • The behavior is intended to harm or disturb
  • It is carried out repeatedly and over time
  • There is an imbalance of power, either physical or psychological

What are We Doing?

  • We take every report of bullying seriously
  • We interview students and conduct an investigation
  • If the bullying report is founded we submit a formal report to our district office as directed by AB 9
  • Students involved will receive consequences based on our progressive discipline policy

Coffee with the Principal

Riverbank parents are invited to join Mr. Woodcock for coffee on the last Friday of every month.  We will be meeting in or around the library. If you can’t stay, just stop by and get a cup of coffee for the road.  This is an opportunity for you to meet informally with the principal and other parents.  As our group gets larger, we will have guest presenters and topics for discussion.

Please remember that minimum days begin at 8:00 am with dismissal at 12:45 pm. We appreciate the extra effort you make to have your child at school on time and picked up promptly at dismissal. Kindergarten has Double Days on minimum days, with instruction from 8:00-11:20, and lunch from 11:20-11:40 for all kindergarten students. All minimum days are posted on the website calendar so you can make arrangements in advance. Thank you, Otter Parents!
